There are some great attractions in Missouri, and some of them are free to visit. However, one attraction is being recognized as the best in the Show-Me State—and it's not the St. Louis Zoo.

When I first saw this, I immediately thought, Oh, it's the St. Louis Zoo! But as I scrolled down to find the answer, I was surprisingly shocked. No, instead, the experts at Reader's Digest suggest that the best free attraction is the St. Louis Art Museum.

What?

Not the zoo or the Science Center, but the art museum? Don't get me wrong—I love visiting the art museum, but the best free attraction in the entire state? Mmmm... I don’t think so.

For me, right now, having kiddos means we avoid places with breakable items and lean toward family-friendly spots. I'm sure the art museum is beautiful and has amazing pieces of art, but it's not exactly a place for kids to run around and play without interfering with other visitors' experiences.

So for now, we will keep to the zoo and the science center and maybe within the next few years, we can look at visiting the art museum.
