Two Pleasant Hill residents are in the Pike County, Illinois Jail on meth possession and other charges.

Pike County Sheriff David Greenwood reports deputies, along with Pleasant Hill Police and West Central Illinois Task Force agents executed a search warrant at a residence in Pleasant Hill just before 4:45 p.m. Monday.

As a result of the search, officers took 25 year old Phillip Stauffer and 27 year old Nickie Shewmake, both of Pleasant Hill, into custody.

Stauffer is charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of firearms/ammunition, resisting arrest, and failure to appear warrants from Pike and Calhoun counties.

Shewmake is also charged with unlawful possession of meth, along with obstruction of justice and concealing or aiding a fugitive.

Both Stauffer and Shewmake are lodged in the Pike County, Illinois Jail.
