For Father's Day, my wife and I took the dinner cruise on the Mark Twain Riverboat. It had been a while since we took a riverboat cruise. I forgot how relaxing and enjoyable it can be.

The evening started with music and entertainment by Princess Jenny Cash, the prettiest pirate on the river. She has taken the place of the retired L. A. Suess. She introduced the crew, and dinner was served. Your choice of a beef or chicken entree, vegetable, a pasta dish, salad, and rolls. Desert is included, which is served at your table.

Princess Jenny Cash continues to entertain throughout dinner and afterwards, where you are welcome to grab a beverage and stroll outside the cabin area.

The weather was perfect - not too warm, not too breezy. But I do recommend sunglasses. The evening sun as the boat heads north can get pretty bright.

The picture above was taken while Capt. Steve Terry was docking the boat at their alternate landing. Since the flood walls have been removed, the Mark Twain Riverboat is back at its normal Center Street landing.

You don't have to be a tourist to enjoy a night on the river. If you want an enjoyable and relaxing time, either with a group or that special someone, call the Mark Twain Riverboat at 573-221-3222. Sightseeing cruises are typically at 11:00am, 1:30pm, and 4:00pm, with the dinner cruises at 6:30pm.
