Congrats to Kansas City, Missouri for being named the 3rd Best Food City according to the experts at Travel Awaits. The only cities in America with better food than Kansas City according to Travel Awaits are New Orleans ranked 1st, and Boston ranked 2nd, what makes Kansas City deserving of the number 3 spot? On the site, they say...

"Kansas City is famous for its barbecue, so it’s no surprise it earned a spot in the top three (sorry, Memphis and St. Louis). Tim Trudell and Jill Dutton both recommend Arthur Bryant’s Barbeque, which has been in operation since 1958. Bryant, the so-called “King of Ribs,” served his barbecue to Presidents Truman, Carter, and Obama...anyone traveling to Kansas City make time for tacos — delicious evidence of the area’s growing Hispanic population."

They also go on to say that if you want a specific recommendation try the Pan Fried Chicken at Stroud's Oak Ridge Manor, which is surprising because in the city of BBQ, the recommendation is Fried Chicken (it probably means that is the best-fried chicken you'll ever have!)

Did they get it right?

Ya, I think so, I would argue that Chicago is the best food city in America, they have Chicago ranked 5th on the list, but Kansas City and New Orleans belong in that top 5 for sure. I have been to Boston and I enjoyed the history and the beer there but to be honest, I didn't think of it as a great food city, that would be my only major disagreement with this list. Do you think they got it right?
