I'm not trying to detract from what is definitely a nice honor for one Wisconsin place named one of the safest cities in America. But, I do find it ironic that it's situated next door to one of the most dangerous places also.

First, the good stuff. Safewise is a security company that just released the 2024 version of their safest cities in America list and one Wisconsin place made the top 30.

Congratulations to Waukesha, Wisconsin, one of the safest cities in America. Nice job. Now, let's talk about your next door neighbor to the east.

No offense intended, Brewers fans, but Milwaukee did NOT make the safest cities in America list. Shocking, I know. Forbes had the big city listed as the 13th most dangerous actually. I would argue that compared to most other cities its size, Milwaukee isn't really the murder capital that the rest of America would have you believe. However, it is a bit ironic that while one Wisconsin town gets nice recognition for being so safe, the notorious crime problem lies just a few blocks away.

Still, let's accept this for what it is. It's a national shout-out to Waukesha, Wisconsin. We can all be happy and celebrate like it's 1999 like Prince advised. But, it just goes to show you how fickle the internet can be. Warning of danger one minute and then praising peace and safety just a couple miles away. Sigh.
