It's not Ladue and it's not Town and Country which surprised me. No, the most expensive housing market in Missouri is wild - literally.

I've driven through many of Missouri's ritziest neighborhoods like Florissant, Chesterfield and Kirkwood. Notice that I said "driven through" and not "lived there". I haven't been invited to any barbeques there either.

What is the most expensive housing market in Missouri?

24/7 Wall St says it's Wildwood, Missouri where the median home value is $449,900 and over 91% of the rich and famous people own their homes.

The one unique thing about Wildwood is it's aptly named with more trees than you're likely to see anywhere else in the Saint Louis, Missouri area.

I'm very curious why the Loch Lloyd area of Kansas City, Missouri didn't even appear in the top 30 of most expensive housing markets considering that Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and Tom Watson reportedly live there. Ladue is also nowhere to be found in this new ranking. What's up? Are the rich and famous not talking about how much they paid for their homes suddenly? It's a valid question.

Don't misunderstand. Wildwood, Missouri is an amazing place, but it's not really the place of millionaires like some other housing markets in Missouri. Still, it ranks number one for being the most expensive and numbers (apparently) don't lie.
