This new roundup of the best cheap BBQ in each state by Cheapism is interesting for several reasons. First, "cheap" is a relative word. What might be cheap for someone might feel like a fortune for another. Cheap is relative. The bigger controversy is their selection for the best cheap BBQ in Missouri. It's not that the Missouri BBQ place they've picked isn't good. As a matter of fact, many consider them legendary and maybe one of the best BBQ places in America. They say that Arthur Bryant's is as good as it gets for cheap BBQ in Missouri. What's the problem with Arthur Bryant's Barbeque? Absolutely nothing. Arthur Bryant's is legendary and many think it's the best BBQ place in America, but the controversy (in Missouri) is the sauce. Cheapism even mentions Arthur Bryant's sauce in their roundup saying "opinions about the restaurant’s distinctive barbecue sauce remain famously divided". No kidding. Every time I share anything about Arthur Bryant's, the comments fly about the awesomeness (or not) of their proprietary BBQ sauce.

I am still a believer that you really have to try hard to find bad BBQ in Missouri. Our state has so many places that add their own flavor and spin to this food favorite, it's hard to go wrong no matter what spot you decide to scarf on it.
