It’s Crazy How Little Time People in Iowa Spend Commuting to Work
How long does your commute to work take? Well if you live in Iowa apparently you must live where you work, that's how quick their commute is in the Hawkeye State.

According to data from the 2020 Census, which you can find out all the information that the 2020 Census has to offer by just going to data.census.gov (or just click here!), the people of Iowa really don't have to spend much time getting to work in the morning! The data shows that the average time of commute to work for people in Iowa is 19.8 minutes, which is well below the national average commute time of 27.6 minutes.
Compared to Iowa's fellow Tri-State counterparts, Missouri's commute time on average is 24.3 minutes (which is also not bad at all!), and Illinois has a commute time average of 29.6 minutes which is 2 minutes above average.
This data only says commuting to work, so for many people that means just driving yourself to work, I drive myself to work every morning here at Townsquare Media in Quincy and it only takes me 5 mins tops. BUT When I lived in Chicago for years my commute on the 146 bus south from Belmont to the Adler Planetarium would take upwards of an hour sometimes and I was only traveling 5 miles south. Some people though don't get to drive and their commutes include busses, trains, bikes, or even just walking. It isn't shocking to see that Illinois has a higher commute time, most of that is probably due to Chicagoland, but it's still crazy on average people in Iowa has such a short commute to work! How long is your commute?
