The experts at Midwest Living put together a list of 7 Reasons Why Lake of the Ozarks is Actually Better in the Fall. At first, my gut reaction was NO WAY. But they actually make a pretty good case, here are a couple of the main points they make...

1. Fishing, they say that the fishing in the fall is fantastic...

"Catfish, black bass and white bass all get active as the water cools...The best part about autumn angling: you won't have nearly as much competition as in summer."

2. Changing Leafs, obviously we all know fall colors are the best...

"The trees look especially bright along the lakeshore, where the road crosses the lake at both Hurricane Deck and Niangua bridges."

3. Cheap Golf...

"The lake boasts its own golf trail, one of the best golf destinations in the Midwest... Fall typically brings cheaper tee times and more availability at prime spots."

The article goes on to make a bunch of other points to support the Lake being better in the fall, to read them all yourself, click here!

I think they make a valid and strong argument, but... NO WAY is the Lake better in the fall compared to the summer! Lake of the Ozarks is THE best Midwest summer lake experience! So many concerts, bars, events, pools, and activities, the lake life in the summer is just unbeatable. I get it if you don't love the crowds and the "party" atmosphere that the lake has in the summer but it is big enough for you to still enjoy just laying out, cruising, and having a good time away from the party scene. Don't get me wrong, there is never a bad time to be around the lake but in my opinion it is still best in the summer, do you agree?
