Make the Most of Your Illinois Sweet Corn This Fall
Sweet corn is on the list of many people’s favorite foods in the region, but there are several ways you can prepare and enjoy it.
Step 1. Find some sweet corn from a trusted vendor. Whether that’s a farmer’s market, a roadside stand, a local grocer that you know sells produce from the area, or even a friend that grows some. Once you’ve procured the sweet corn from different source or all of the above, figure out which you like best, what works best for your recipes, and where it ultimately comes from so that you can make certain in the future you get the ears of corn you like most.
Step 2. Decide how you want to prepare the ears of deliciousness:
Grilled—
Fried—
Corn Salad—
Step 3. Enjoy with family and friends.
Finally, make sure you share the recipe and methods you used. Make mental (or physical) notes on how you might put your own twist on these sweet corn delicacies. What you ultimately create may become a family tradition passed down through the generations, mother to daughter, neighbor to neighbor, friend to friend.
Get corny!
