A Hannibal man is in the Marion County Jail as the result of an incident early Friday morning.

Hannibal Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance just after 4 a.m. Friday in the 200 block of South 10th.

Officers arrived to learn that 44 year old James Paul Holman had forced his way into the residence causing an altercation. Holman then left the house, shot the tire of a vehicle parked at the residence and backed into that same vehicle before fleeing the scene.

Officers took Holman into custody without incident shortly after 10 a.m. near Munger and Colfax, recovering a handgun in the process.

Warrants were issued Friday afternoon, charging Holman with burglary, domestic assault, unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon and receiving stolen property.

Holman is in the Marion County Jail on $100,000 cash only bond.
