2015 marks the 20th anniversary of the famed Hannibal Cannibal in America's Hometown. The 5, 10 and 15k run and walk is set to take place on the morning of July 4.

The Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation hosts the event that begins in historic downtown Hannibal, and runs south out of town and back, including the always challenging run and walk up "Lovers Leap." This years race begins at 7:00 a.m. There is also a fun run for kids ages 10 and under.

"The Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises funds to support Hannibal Regional Healthcare System in their delivery of exceptional healthcare," according to the foundations Finance Director, and Race Director Angie Wllcoxson. The Hannibal Cannibal is one of the foundations major fundraisers each year, raising over $45,000 for their Believe Campaign in 2014. Angie adds that "this year, race proceeds will support the foundations Legacy Campaign, an investment that raises funds for the hospitals endowment. This endowment is the key resource for funding important projects and services in the future."

The fun run is hosted by the Hannibal Children's Center and the funds raised from it will help support projects that enhance student learning at the center.

Registrations for the Hannibal Cannibal is open online. The fee is $25 through July 1, and will be $30 after that date. The fun run coast $15 and will not go up in cost.
