After attending the hot dog eating contest at Ashley Furniture Homestore in Quincy on July 4th, I read this story.

According to the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council (NOT kidding- it's a a REAL council), July has been proclaimed, "National Hot Dog Month."

In celebration of this event, the St. Louis Cardinals are offering up the largest hot dog in the history of Busch Stadium.

The "Giant Slugger," is a two-foot long, one pound dog.  If you get it fully loaded with all of the toppings, it weighs in at 2.75 pounds.

The Giant Slugger will set you back $26 bucks and is advertised at being able to feed four people. Personally, I was thinking it might last me, until the end of the game.

Can you imagine sitting next to the guy that orders up one of these, fully loaded with nacho cheese, chili, onions and jalapenos?

I'm praying that the wind is blowing out of the stadium.
