I was one of the people who just recently learned that Missouri had its own bourbon, probably because it officially happened in 2020 and the world was focused on other things obviously. But if you are a big whiskey and bourbon fan like me this is exciting news! I found besocialscene.com's rankings of the top 10 Whiskey Brands in Missouri and there is good bourbon all over the Show-Me State.

The place that really caught my eye on the list is Still 630 Distillery in St. Louis, they are home to the iconic Missouri Straight Bourbon Whiskey Single-Barrel, on the site they say...

"...made from 100% corn grown, mashed, fermented, and distilled in Missouri. The blend is distilled using Missouri oak barrels and has passed all of the requirements given by the Missouri Craft Distillers Guild to qualify as a “Missouri Bourbon.”... It’s a smooth drink to sip with a little bit of a burn on the first try and a sweet and spicy finish that gives you back the fresh sweet corn taste."

If you go to Still 603 Distillery's website you can see everything that they have to offer, including tours, and a full line of spirits and cocktails.

If you are new to whiskey and bourbon never fear! All you really need to know is that they were created in Ireland, the biggest-selling whiskey in the world is Jack Daniels old number 7, and all bourbon is whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon. Think of bourbon as a special subspecies of whiskey that is made with at least 51% corn and aged in charred oak barrels. The other thing to remember is that whiskey is fun, don't let whiskey snobs stop you from trying new whiskeys mixing it with things, and liking something that is too "mainstream".
