Following a recent audit within the St. Louis Public School district, Interim Superintendent Millicent Borishade is requiring all district credit cards be turned in by staff members to the CFO Angie Banks this coming Monday (December 16, 2024).

The audit showed that spending policies were not uniform across all departments and positions, leading to a lack of documentation, and that previous Superintendent Keisha Scarlett used district credit cards to spend thousands on Doordash, over a thousand at Bath & Body Works, almost two thousand dollars on flowers, plus, unauthorized travel and hotel stays.  In all the audit showed that Scarlett and her staff spent well over $200,000 on district credit cards.

Scarlett was placed on leave by the St. Louis Public school district in July of 2024 and her contract was terminated in September.

There are twenty credit cards currently assigned to the St. Louis Public School district. Those have to be handed over this coming Monday. The districts audit only focused on four of them assigned to Scarlett and the Superintendents office.

Keisha was St. Louis Public School Superintendent for all of fourteen months, during which time she racked the over $200,000 in credit card spending.

St. Louis Public Schools released a report that showed Scarlett was in violation of district policies regarding hiring, spending and unapproved administrative pay.
