The CMA's or Country Music Association Awards, happen in November in Nashville. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood have become an annual hosting duo.

The ACM's... Academy of Country Music Awards, have been going on in April, live from Las Vegas for quite some time. Next year the show will move to Dallas for a year, but is expected to go back to Sin City. Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan have served as hosts the last couple years.

The CMT, Country Music Television Awards, happen in Nashville in June and focus of the music video side of the business.

The newcomer in the last few years is the American Country Awards, held in December. These too take place in Las Vegas and were hosted last year by Trace Adkins and Danica Patrick.

The Grammys and the Billboard Music Awards hand out country awards too, but aren't dedicated solely to the format.
