Coronavirus Vaccine Headed for Pike County IL

The new COVID-19 vaccine is on its way to Pike County, Illinois.

The Pike County Health Department says it has been notified by the Illinois Department of Public Health that the vaccine should arrive in Pike County later this week.

Pike is one of 50 Illinois counties to be the first to receive the vaccine.

In the first phase of vaccinations, the health department will vaccinate frontline healthcare personnel at Illini Hospital, while vaccination of long term care facility workers and residents will be handled through a federal contract with CVS and Walgreens.
