Adam Richman, star of Travel Channel’s “Man v. Food”  and “Best Sandwich in  America”among other shows popped in at City Park in St. Louis for a St. Louis City SC match and to try all the stadium food featured at the park.

Ballpark food is not what it was when we were growing up. Yes, a hotdog and a beer at the game is a special treat. But the days of hotdogs, nachos and pretzels as the mainstay eats at the game are long gone.

When St. Louis FINALLY got an MLS franchise they celebrated by leaning into the unique food traditions of the Gateway City and the restaurants that do them up best to be vendors...(!!!).

This is the fare that Richman got to enjoy during his visit to City Park. St. Louis traditions like: Toasted Ravioli, Pork Steak Sandwich, Steve’s St. Louis Hot Dogs, amongst many other flavors of “the Lou” like Provel cheese, Red Hot Riplets, the St. Paul sandwich and others.

In just one trip to City Park to take in a match you can taste the different flavors of St. Louis. Okay, you may need to plan several trips to the park to taste everything.

When sports fans think St. Louis they immediately go to the Cardinals and that’s a fair take, but spend some time in St. Louis and you’ll find a town with a rich tradition of soccer going back generations. St. Louis isn’t just the soccer capital of Missouri, (sorry Kansas City) but also the nation (not sorry Kansas City) as labeled by former USMNT coach Greg Berhalter and on the broadcast from TNT and Peacock.

The food at City Park is elite for anywhere much less at a stadium. But what else would the soccer capital pair the game with? Take in a match in St. Louis and eat like a Richman.
