2020 has been filled with cancellations, it is the year of events and traditions being put on hold, and now we have another one to add to that ever growing list. The Historical Society of Quincy announced today that the ever popular holiday tradition of Candlelight Tours in the John Wood Mansion is officially cancelled.

On the Facebook page for the Historical Society of Quincy they officially made the announcement of the cancellation of the candlelight tours. They said in a post...

"With the State of Illinois moving back to tier 3 COVID response the Historical Society regrets to inform the community that the 2020 candlelight tours are cancelled...The Governor John Wood Mansion will still be lit every night during the Christmas season for everyone to enjoy."

This is just another blow to many of us across the Tri-States who had hopes of having as many fun filled holiday events as possible this holiday season. However safety and keeping people healthy is the most important thing this holiday season so it is not surprising to see the Historical Society of Quincy make the decision to cancel the candlelight tours of the John Wood Mansion. If you know of any events that are happening this holiday season that you would like to promote reach out to us, or if you have an event that you or cancelling we can also help you spread the word.
