Each Friday at 9:30am, KICK-FM will feature an artist on the rise during the Breakthrough Artist of the Week.

Lee Gantt grew up right in the Rust Belt, and pulls that Midwest spirit into his musical style and songwriting. Gantt started playing music in college, and then experimented with songwriting, blending his influences from across generations of country stars, like Conway Twitty, Garth Brooks, Eric Church and his primary inspiration, Kenny Chesney. And while he's decidedly country, I definitely hear a bit of the blue-collar rocker in him, reminiscent of Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp. He released his Casa Blvd EP late last summer. For more about Lee Gantt, check out his website here. His music, including the EP, and his single "Ruined This Town," are available on iTunes.
