Breakthrough Artist of the Week: Risa Binder

Each Friday at 9:30am, KICK-FM will feature an artist on the rise during the Breakthrough Artist of the Week.

Risa Binder took an unusual path to her country career: she moved to Brooklyn, New York to pursue it. But while she was singing and songwriting in the Big Apple, she also found she was constantly taking trips to Nashville to attend songwriting workshops. She eventually hit the stage at CMA Music Festival in Nashville, where she was one of the most popular newcomers on the roster. And in her short career so far, she's already notched a Daytime Emmy Nomination for "Just Like That" after it was featured in General Hospital.
