The first annual Eva Kathleen Kelly  "Big or Small, Save 'em All" fundraiser will be held July 27 in New Canton, Illinois.

The event is being held in honor of Eva Kelly of Pittsfield who died of cancer last December. The event's organizer, Michelle Garrett, says Eva "spent her life loving animals, friends and music." Eva was just 29 years old at the time of her passing.

The fundraiser will include a 5k run/walk, kiddie carnival and pet contest in the park, then a bike show and live music at Goobies Bar in New Canton in the evening.

Donations are needed for auction or raffle. Proceeds will go to the American Breast Cancer Association, The Pike County and Adams County animal shelters and to the family of Amiee Booth of Pittsfield, a 19 year old currently battling the disease.

Michelle Garrett points out that every $100 donated to the American Breast Cancer Association pays for one mammogram for someone who can't afford one.

Please mark July 27th on your calendars and plan to attend this important event.
