Fewer make Christmas beers. Seek these out to sample and share with friends and family who enjoy a good Christmas pour.
Revolution Brewing - Fistmas
This Chicago brewery is the largest independent brewery in Illinois, and regularly wins awards for their products. They make excellent IPA’s and have creative seasonal offerings that you can purchase all across the state. The Fistmas is a red ale that delivers ginger and orange peel, along with fresh bread, and a subtle fruitiness.
Goose Island - Christmas IPA
Made with a Christmas stocking full of hops, a little caramel malt, with hints of citrus and pine notes. Goose Island beers are available all over Illinois. At 7.5 ABV, you’ll end up under the mistletoe.
Begyle Brewing – Christmas Ale
You’ll have to go to Chicagoland to get this Christmas brew. This spiced ale leans on cinnamon and bay leaves with a comforting maltiness. ABV is 7.0.
Spiteful Brewing – Jingle Balls
This Chicago Christmas special is a spiced winter ale that mixes ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, with a hint of citrusy zest. Another Chicagoland special that is served at 7.6 ABV.
