Runners Will Try to ‘Beat Beethoven’ in Quincy on September 20
This sounds like it is going to be a bunch of fun, but can you do it in time?
Here is what will happen. At 8 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, Beethoven's 5th Symphony will begin to play. The idea is to try and complete a 5K Run/Walk before the Symphony is finished at the Holiday Inn Parking Lot at Oak Street and 48th. The total time is 28 minutes and 39 seconds. This is going to be fun for all. Race Day registration is between 7 a.m. and 7:45, and the race will begin at 8.
All participants will receive a free ticket to the Quincy Symphony Orchestra. The cost to participate for an individual is $25.00, families of four will be $50.00. This event is sponsored by Encore, the volunteer council of the Quincy Symphony Orchestra. It will help support youth music programs in the Tri-State area.
