A Website ranked Schools in Missouri as the Least Safe in the US

A popular website ranked the States with the Best and Worst School systems and in doing so ranked Missouri 50th out of 50 states for "safest" school systems, why did Missouri finish last?

According to WalletHub, Missouri has the least safe school system in the United States, this last place ranking is a part of their study on States with the Best and Worst School Systems, Missouri ranked 35th overall in the ranking which was comprised of two main categories Quality (in which Missouri ranked 29th) and Safety in which they ranked Missouri 50th. On the site they say...

"Unlike other research that focuses primarily on academic outcomes or school finance, WalletHub’s analysis takes a more comprehensive approach. It accounts for performance, funding, safety, class size and instructor credentials. To determine the top-performing school systems in America..."

Now WalletHub doesn't come out and say why Missouri was ranked 50th in the safety category, but they do have a breakdown of how the safety ranking was determined, it was based on 17 different metrics including things like the percentage of students participating in violence, the share of students with access to illegal drugs, and the number of bullying incidents. For our listeners on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River, Illinois ranks 23rd overall for the best school system according to this ranking getting ranked 18th for quality and 29th for safety. Overall, I don't know how much I agree with these rankings, there seem to be a lot of metrics and data used to rank the school systems but I just still am in shock that Missouri schools are considered the "least" safe in the country, do you think they got it right?
