WalletHub.com has just released their report called 2023's Best Cities for Jobs, and Missouri's two largest cities Kansas City and St. Louis fall at very different spots on this ranking.

St. Louis is one of the better big cities in the country to be looking for a job in 2023, ranking in at 37th on the list ahead of places like Chicago at 137th, Houston at 131st, and New York City at 147th. Meanwhile, Kansas City is in the group with the cities I just mentioned coming in at 102nd on the list, considerably lower than its in-state counterpart. On the site they say...

"To help you with the job hunt, WalletHub compared more than 180 U.S. cities across 32 key indicators of job-market strength. They range from job opportunities to employment growth to monthly average starting salary."

St. Louis ranks 12th in the overall job market but does rank 118th in the socio-economics category. Meanwhile, Kansas City ranks 87th in the overall job market and is 130th in the socio-economics category. To see the full list for yourself click here!

Being the 12th overall job market for St. Louis is such a positive thing for the city, if you're trying to attract talent to move to your city you have to have good jobs they will want, and it appears St. Louis has that. In fact, the only "big" cities to have a better job market rating than St. Louis are Orlando, San Francisco, San Jose, Pittsburgh, and Salt Lake City.
