Wedding season kicks into gear in a few months, and quite often Midwest newlyweds don’t want to honeymoon in their backyard. So, where do honeymooners from Missouri choose to go when they travel to celebrate and consecrate their union? We’ll keep the choices to the North American continent for convenience and accessibility.

Florida: Missouri newlyweds choose to go to Florida. The Sunshine State offers lots of solid exotic choices for a couple from Missouri. Top of the list is the Keys. Key West and Key Largo are as tropical as it gets in the lower 48 states. On the Gulf side, Marco Island, Naples, and increasingly, Anna Maria Island provide different Florida vibes based on your preferences. St. Augustine and Amelia Island on the North Atlantic coast of Florida serve up a more “old traditional” Florida vibe, while South Florida around Miami gives you many Caribbean flavors.

Hawaii is nice too, and a popular choice for newlywed Missouri brides and grooms. Whether it’s the Kona Coast on the Big Island with its marine life, Kauai’s more low-key Poipu Beach, or the up-and-coming Kaanapoli with the resorts and white sand beaches. The Pacific outpost of Hawaii will always be a solid choice.

The Caribbean is a beloved place to honeymoon. It could be Aruba, the Bahamas or Jamaica, each of these tropical islands has exotic beauty in abundance. The trendy choice recently has been further south in St. Lucia, for its intimacy and romance, or the exquisite beaches of the Turks and Caicos, the Caribbean islands have plenty of options for lovers.

Other choices that won’t evoke fruity drinks made with rum in North America are: Las Vegas, Nashville, wine country in Northern California, and Sedona, Arizona. Congrats on your nuptials! Launch into your life journey together with something memorable.
