According to the website Missouri is one of the BEST states in the country to retire in. The site ranked the states on a number of different factors to determine if it was a good state to retire in, those factors are Affordability, Wellness, Culture, Weather, and Crime, all solid measures of what you are looking for in retirement (especially weather). So when you combine all those factors where does Missouri rank?

Missouri ranks in 4th place on the list of the 50 states behind only, Georgia number 1, and then Florida 2nd, and 3rd place Tennessee. Missouri ranks really well in a number of the categories including 3rd place in the country for Affordability, and 18th for Weather.

Now when we look closer to home here in the Tri-States, Missouri really blows Illinois and Iowa away as far as retirement goes. Iowa comes in 36th on the list, it got an extremely low 36th ranking in Wellness, and Illinois falls a couple spots lower than Iowa at 38th on the list scoring a low 34th ranking on Affordability. I got to be honest based on just living in the Tri-States I would agree completely with this ranking, Missouri would be a great state to retire in, you have city options like St. Louis or Kansas City, plus plenty of terrific mid sized cities like Columbia, and Springfield, and there are plenty of instate travel destinations like Branson, and Lake of the Ozarks. Which of the three Tri-State states would you want to retire in?
