What is the Best TV Show that takes place in Illinois?
Illinois is well known for its movies like the Blues Brothers, Home Alone, and Uncle Buck, but Illinois is also the setting for some of the best TV shows of all time, so which one is the best?
Now let me just start this list by saying this is 1000% subjective and based on my own personal experience with shows that I have watched based in the Land of Lincoln, but what is fun about doing lists like this is that you can create your own list and totally agree or disagree with mine so don't be afraid to comment away on what I got right and wrong in your opinion! So here it goes my Top 5 shows that are set in Illinois...
5.) ER - A lot of people are going to wish this show was higher on the list and I get that, it is iconic and so many careers were launched by ER, personally I think it is the best medical show in TV history (sorry Grey's fans...).It comes in at 5 on my list mainly because personally I just have more attachment to the 4 shows I rank above it.
4.) Roseanne/The Connors - Any show that has John Goodman in it will make a best list from me, he is one of my top 5 favorite actors of all time. Roseanne at its peak was quintessential 90's TV, and to be honest, The Connors is fun as far as reboots go, it's certainly not the worst.
3.) Chicago PD/ Chicago Fire - These shows have lasted wayyyyyy longer than anyone would have first predicted when they debuted, and I think that is a testament to how decent they actually are.
2.) Shameless - Hard not to put this show as number 1, but for me, the show wasn't the same after Emmy Rossum left. Don't get me wrong it still is an all-time great show whether you're ranking shows from Illinois or from wherever, and William H Macy is brilliant as Frank.
1.) Married With Children - When people ask you what are your top favorite shows of all time this show always makes my list, Ed O'Neill will always be Al Bundy to me no matter how many Modern Family reruns I watch. This show is laugh-out-loud funny, and could never be made today, maybe that's why I like it so much.
