Lance Cpl. Jared Schmitz was one of 13 US soldiers that were killed in an attack in Afghanistan on August 26, 2021. The funeral for Jared is today and his procession in St. Charles County in Missouri was streamed for public viewing.

As KMOV reported, portions of Interstate 70 were closed today for the funeral procession from the St. Louis airport to Baue Funeral Home in St. Charles. It was a solemn moment for Lance Cpl. Schmitz who was only 20 years old before losing his life in the line of duty.
