Forecasters are calling for a break in the bitter cold temperatures for northeast Missouri and western Illinois in the coming week.

Following a Monday morning wind chill advisory, winds are supposed to calm down tonight and Tuesday, but we will still be in the icebox with lows slated to hit ten below Monday night and five above Tuesday night.

The turnaround starts Wednesday, with highs expected to flirt with 30. Forecasters say it will be absolutely balmy Thursday through Sunday, with highs well into the 30s and lows in the teens and 20s -- more in line with what mid-February weather is supposed to be.

Right now, the only precipitation predicted for the area is a chance of snow Friday night.
