The unclaimed property total is over 1.5 billion dollars...(!!!) including unclaimed insurance policy payouts, contents of safe deposit boxes, government refunds, unpaid wages and even utility deposits.  These unclaimed assets are considered dormant and have been transferred to the state of Missouri.

Treasurer Malek reminds everyone that if you have moved within the state, make sure you check under old addresses in addition to where you currently live. Should you discover that you have unclaimed money in Missouri, just print out the document from the state at the site, sign it and mail it to the Missouri State Treasurer’s office.
