Per Missouri State Treasurer Vivek Malek, 1 out of every ten Missourians has unclaimed money in the state in the sum of at least $50, but in many cases much higher, and the average amount is close to $300.

Treasurer Malek reminds everyone that if you have moved within the state, make sure you check under old addresses in addition to where you currently live. Should you discover that you have unclaimed money in Missouri, just print out the document from the state at the site, sign it and mail it to the Missouri State Treasurer’s office.
