Yesterday was International Museum Day! Which, as we all know, is the 2nd largest global celebration, just behind New Year's Day. There are a few Quincy Museums for you to check out on those lazy summer days.

All Wars Museum

The Illinois Veterans Home on north 12th street features an All Wars Museum. Open for over 30 years, the museum features over 5,000 artifacts from all American wars, from the Revolutionary War, through the recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Group tours are available. For more information about the All Wars Museum, visit their website!

Villa Katherine

The main exhibit at the Villa Katherine is the building itself. Its a beautiful slice of Mediterranean architecture right here on the banks of the Mississippi (about 4500 miles away!). Guided tours are available, and the Villa is open every day, so you have no excuse to not check out the amazing architecture and design of the Villa Katherine. For more information about Villa Katherine, visit their website.

Quincy Museum

The Quincy Museum resides in the historic Newcomb-Stillwell mansion on 16th & Maine in Quincy, and features several exciting exhibits highlighting the rich history of the Quincy area. You definitely don't want to miss their Native American room, which has great activities for kids. For more info on the Quincy Museum, check out their website.
