This Country Music Star Was Just Announced for -Lollapalooza?
Lollapalooza has evolved over the last 34 years. Starting in 1991 it traveled around the country primarily focusing on alternative and rock music. In 2005 Lollapalooza anchored down in Grant Park in Chicago, morphing from a traveling show into the extended weekend event we know now.

One type of music that traditionally hasn’t been featured at the massive event is country music. But, following a huge year in 2024 for country music Lollapalooza decided to give it a whirl. Some of you may correctly say that country artists have participated at Lollapalooza recently, and you are correct. Missouri’s own up and coming Sam Barber performed last summer at Grant Park and in 2023 Ingrid Andress was invited, and while that’s nice, neither of them are as high up the country music ladder as 2025 Lollapalooza featured artist Luke Combs.
There were rumors previously that Morgan Wallen might Lollapalooza this year. Turns out it's Luke Combs, who seems to be focusing on festivals this summer as the tour dates page of his website includes dates for Stagecoach in April. New Orleans Jazz Festival (???) in May, and Bonnaroo in June.
Short of the Windy City Smokeout, Chicago hasn’t been the easiest market for country artists unless you’re a mega star that can set up shop at Soldier Field, Wrigley Field, or the United Center.
With a shortened set Luke Combs will definitely entertain and dazzle all the humanity jammed into Grant Park for this summer’s Lollapalooza. Good on Luke Combs for taking on the responsibility to carry the country banner in front of a giant mass of potential new country fans.
