The Top Halloween Costumes For Kids in 2015
Do you remember any of your Halloween costumes from when you were a kid? Most of us can probably recall at least a couple. With Halloween approaching, what are some of the top costumes kids are picking out in 2015?
According to Meijer, a Midwest retailer with stores in six states, including a store in Springfield, Illinois, Star Wars, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Avengers superheroes are the top costumes for boys this year. Girls are choosing Monster High, My Little Pony, and Anna and Elsa from Frozen. Meijer says that 70% of boys choose a licensed product for their Halloween costumes. The retailer has also noticed an increased interest from costumers for pet costumes, and they expect to sell 80,000 pet outfits and accessories this year!
Whatever your kids decide to be, we hope they have a happy and safe Halloween. There are costume contests coming up at events like Cadan's Carnival in Quincy, and Putt or Treat at Sawyer's Creek in Hannibal. Trick-or-treating opportunities are also coming up in the next few weeks at the Kroc Center, Quincy Mall, and at Safe Halloween for Kids. See Haunted Houses, Corn Mazes, Pumpkin Patches and Halloween Fun in the Quincy/Hannibal Area for details on these and many other fun Halloween events.
By the way, Halloween is on a Saturday in 2015, which makes it even extra fun. Halloween won't fall on a Saturday again until 2020.
