The Grand Prix of Karting Races Into South Park This Weekend
Race fans get ready, this weekend the Grand Prix of Karting is back and it's bigger and better than ever before.
After being cancelled last year due to COVID 19, its back this weekend and bigger than ever. This year’s Grand Marshall is two-time Indie Car Champion Al Unser, Jr. Unser is one of the all-time top IndyCar drivers, and a member of one of racings royal families. His driving career spanned more than two decades, he's the son of Al Unser Sr. and nephew of the late Bobby Unser. That alone is enough to head to South Park this weekend, but of course there is a TON of racing too.
Warm up sessions begin at 8:30 on Saturday morning, with the racing beginning at 2 pm and ending with the business challenge at 5 pm. Sorry race fans, you can't get me into a race car, I can barely drive a go-kart. Sunday the racing continues with warm-up laps starting at 9 am and championship racing beginning at noon. Get the full racing schedule on the Grand Prix of karting Website.
This is a free event and everyone is invited to come out and enjoy a day of racing. Bring the lawn chairs and blankets and sit back and watch one of the funniest (is that even a word) events of the year. We here at Townsquare Media are excited to be a part of this amazing event. Come find us this year and hand out with us for an afternoon. There is so much excitement around this event and we can't wait to eb there.
It's going to be a beautiful weekend, so come on out and enjoy the Grand Prix of Karting this Saturday and Sunday.
