Hy-Vee is warning their shoppers of a social media scam that showed up on Facebook over the weekend.

A "coupon" promising shoppers $80 in Hy-Vee goods is being wildly circulated on social media. If you happen to see it, just ignore it. It's a scam. Both Hy-Vees in Quincy posted on their respective Facebook pages to disregard the too-good-to-be-true deal and to not share it on their personal pages. If you want to know the latest Hy-Vee deals, your best bet is to visit the website or use the Hy-Vee app.

This is not the first fake coupon to make social media rounds. I have seen similar ones from Aldi, Kohl's, and plenty of other retailers. I'm sure their cashiers get pretty fed up having to explain this to customers wanting to score a deal. Generally, if you see a deal that is too good to be true, it probably is.
