The Taproom Room located on 6th Street in Quincy has closed. Chris Austin, an award-winning Mixologist, was surprised to find that when he arrived for work Monday afternoon he was told that the Taproom was officially closed for good. No reason was given as to why. Chris told KICK FM that he,

"received a phone call from the owner stating that the bar is closed and will not be reopening. I've often said that the Taproom is more then a bar. Some very special moments have happened there. I have no fear about the future or the support of the community in any other endeavors. However, my heart is heavy with the loss of this local Gem."

Chris now looks to find a new bar to make his amazing cocktails and specialty drinks. The Taproom opened in Quincy in 2018 and once served food but the last few years it was just solely a place to go for drinks. The bar was extremely successful winning best bartender three times, and a five-state rating on Facebook, and was just overall well-liked by everyone who went there. You never left any liking something Chris made.

It's sad to see another business gone in the downtown area, especially 6th Street where the whole street is just thriving. We will update you on any additional information if any is released.
