Fox 2 in St. Louis are reporting that the Missouri Department of Conservation is investigating the death of a bear that many locals in Washington County, Missouri had seen in the area. Some even captured video of the black bear who they say was not causing any problems.

That same bear was just found shot and killed and they're investigating who did it to learn the backstory behind who would kill a bear and why.

According to the Fox 2 St. Louis story, no one has been charged at this time although the Missouri Department of Conservation is on the case.

The first even bear hunting season was conducted last fall in Missouri and there's another in 2022 scheduled for October 17 - 26. Hunters must receive a permit and there are only certain zones and quotas that are allowed. For more information and updates, you can check out the Missouri Department of Conservation website.
