
Snow Comes to Life in Illinois for 2025 State Competition
This week in Rockford’s Sinnissippi Park twelve teams bring their skill and plans together for a chance to be the best Snow Sculptors in Illinois. Plus eleven high school teams will compete for the state team title.
The 39th annual Snow Sculpting Competition runs from January 22nd through the 25th.
You can watch and walk through the park while the event is going on. The sculptures will remain as long as the weather allows.
Each team will have a block of snow to work with that is the same size as the other competitors.
The Champions for the state contest will advance to the National Snow Sculpting Competition in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin --for the 2026 event.

The 2025 National event starts next week - January 29th through February 2nd at Winterfest in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Where the best teams from Illinois, Minnesota, Vermont, Washington, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Alaska, Michigan, Colorado, Wisconsin, and Florida…(??..!!)
Yes, there is a World Snow Sculpting competition too. This year’s world’s event is in Stillwater, Minnesota.
