Quincy Police Warn of IRS Scam
The Quincy Police Department would like to inform citizens of a recent scam which is currently being used in our area.
The scam consists of phone calls or messages being sent to individuals demanding payment owed to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The calls can be threatening in nature. If you should receive one of these calls, hang up. If you receive a message on your answering machine regarding money owed to the IRS, do not respond to the message. The IRS does not make contact by phone solicitation.
