Last week, the City of Quincy announced upcoming dates for additional road closures, along with tentative timelines for when other roads are expected to reopen.

Road Closures Coming to Quincy: What You Need to Know

Many of us drive on these roads every single day, and while they’ll be much better once the work is finished, right now it’s just a hot mess. Last week, the City of Quincy provided residents with an update, including additional road closure dates. Navigating Quincy will be a challenge for a while.

The Broadway water main replacement project, stretching from 12th to 24th Street, is scheduled for completion by August 1st. This project includes replacing the main and water services, as well as adding new sidewalks and driveways. The Harrison Bridge project is expected to be completed by September 12th, while pavement patching at Prairie Crossing is scheduled to be finished by June 30th.

New Quincy Road Projects

While those projects continue, additional construction is set to begin, adding even more roadblocks around the city. The expanded Broadway construction project will start on July 7th and will affect the area from 24th to 30th Street. This project will focus on water main and service line replacements, along with some sidewalk upgrades. It’s expected to be completed by November 1st.

Resurfacing on South 18th Street, from Harrison to Ohio, is set to begin on July 7th and is scheduled for completion by August 22nd. Keep in mind, all of these projected completion dates are tentative and may change depending on weather conditions or unforeseen issues that arise during construction. Just imagine how great these roads will be once everything is finished. We just have to get through the process first.
