Quincy Humane Society Gears Up For Largest Fundraiser
The Quincy Humane Society is gearing up for their biggest fundraiser of the year.
The SPRING: Bark in the Park will be taking place at Wavering Park on Saturday, May 22. Registrations starts at 9:30 with the Mutt Strutt beginning at 10 am. Pilar Brumbaugh, Community Relations & Fundraising Director, says:
For 26 years the Mutt Strutt has been the area's largest outdoor dog friendly festival/dog walk events. The event starts off with our traditional One Mile Mutt Strutt and will have a wide variety of activities and vendors. There is something for everyone, and we encourage the community to come out and enjoy a day with their family and friend.
I've noticed within the last few weeks, that Quincy is really becoming a dog town. There are so many community members out and about walking/running with their dogs and I just love it. Now, you can help the Humane Society to raise funds to help other dogs (and cats) fund their fur-ever home. Grab the family and your four-legged friend and sign up to walk. I may even bring my Max and the girls and participate this year.
What a fun way to get out and get exercise, and help a really fantastic organization. After the walk there will be plenty to do with the family. Purina Pro Plan Performance will be putting on two performances, Tracy Schlepphorst and Ripley the Wonderdog, plus Hoagie the new courtroom dog. Registration is open for this event, hope to see you there.
