QCT announces LIVE Theatre Returning
Quincy Community Theatre will bring back live theatre soon with a one woman show!
It has been over a year since live theatre was performed for an audience at Quincy Community Theatre, the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the production of Chicago the musical a week before opening and Quincy Community Theatre has been virtual since. They have had great success with virtual classes, seminars, and productions like A Christmas Carol, and the Ghost Light Concert, but there is nothing quiet like LIVE theatre. Well the long wait for live theatre will be coming to an end soon...
Quincy Community Theatre announced on their Facebook page today that they will be bringing LIVE theatre back to their stage in the form of a one woman show called "The Belle of Amherst" coming April 2021. In the Facebook post they say...
"“The Belle of Amherst,” a provocative one-woman show based on the life of Emily Dickinson played by Jeri Conboy. Join us as we take a deeper look into the life of one of America’s most beloved poets and discover we may not have known her as well as we thought."

On Quincy Community Theatre's website they say that the show is officially scheduled for Wednesday, April 14th through Sunday, April 18th. And that this play will really dive into the personal life of Emily Dickinson. I love to hear that Quincy Community Theatre is committed to bringing back live theatre, I was a part of A Christmas Carol in December of 2020 with QCT and as special as it was to film a show and present it to audiences, theatre is meant to be live and seen with an audience, I can't wait to buy my ticket for this show!
