Pope Leo XIV Tourism Taking Shape in Illinois
Now that the first Pope from the United States has been announced, the scramble to obtain and prepare places and specific spots is on. Bit by bit, piece by piece, location by location, places that Robert Prevost spent time at during his life before becoming Pope are going to get some pretty consistent tourism.

His Boyhood Home - There has already been some confusion about the specific address of Pope Leo’s boyhood home in the south side enclave of Dolton. The street is East 141st Place (as I’ve found), not East 141st Street. They run parallel to each other, but obviously aren’t the same street. The humble three- bedroom house (at 212 I believe) was recently renovated and put on the market, but the listing has suddenly been removed.

His Boyhood Parish – The Prevost family raised their boys as parishioners and attendees of St. Mary of the Assumption School where his faith journey to become Pope began. The church and school has been closed for years, but presumably will be revitalized on some level to capitalize on Pope Leo’s attendance and participation.

His Masters of Divinity Home – Following high school (in Michigan) and college (Villanova) Prevost returned to Chicago to further his education at the Catholic Theological Union in Hyde Park and teaching as a substitute at St. Rita High School
