The website thrillist.com ranked the 20 Greatest Summertime Lake Towns in America and Branson, MO made the exclusive list, along with towns like Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, and Bigfork, Montana. Branson makes the list with Table Rock Lake. and the website instructs readers to go beyond the touristy streets of Branson that give it its reputation and goes on to say...

"...Table Rock Lake is a serene, family-friendly alternative to the rowdy Lake of the Ozarks..."

There is nothing better to do in the summertime than to get on a boat and enjoy a beautiful lake, when I think about summer as a kid growing up all my best memories are from being at Crystal Lake, in Illinois where I grew up, with my siblings, parents, and grandparents. But when I think about lake life in Missouri, I immediately think of Lake of the Ozarks which is why I was surprised to see Branson, MO not Lake of the Ozarks representing Missouri on the list of America's 20 Greatest Summertime Lake Towns. Granted I have never been to Branson, but I have been to Lake Ozark and Osage Beach and had an absolute blast! I guess it is hard to put the entire Lake of the Ozarks on this list because there are so many little towns that border it, but it is great to see Branson get some recognition as a lake town as well!
