When we were kids, we were constantly asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Funny enough, some adults are still asking themselves that same question, especially those in stressful or even depressing jobs.

You Might Avoid the Most Depressing Careers in Illinois

MSN recently released a list of the most depressing jobs in Illinois, and it’s no surprise that many of them are high-stress positions that only certain people, those who truly love what they do, seem to enjoy. Don’t get me wrong, every job out there comes with some level of stress. Heck, even radio broadcasting can be stressful! But these careers take stress to another level.

MSN’s List of the Most Depressing Jobs in Illinois

According to MSN, careers like law, maintenance work, social work, and sales are among the most stressful and emotionally draining. Now, I personally know several people in each of these professions who absolutely love what they do. I think it really comes down to the individual and how they handle difficult situations.

No matter what field you’re in, and every field has its challenges, it’s all about how you manage the stress and learn to leave it at work. I’ve been in broadcasting for over 20 years, and yes, there have been plenty of stressful moments. But at the end of the day, I love what I do and wouldn’t trade it for anything.

I think that’s the key when choosing a career: find your passion. When you love what you do, it makes it a lot easier to handle whatever challenges come your way.
