Is There More “Holiday Touchdown” Story to Tell in Missouri?
It hasn’t even been two full weeks since the Hallmark Channel released the Christmas movie “Holiday Touchdown” that was told from within the world of the Kansas City Chiefs, but there is already talk of a sequel.
Ed Begley Jr. who plays Paul Higman in the highly viewed Hallmark movie told "People" magazine that has already proposed continuing the story, and he’s not alone. Megyn Price as Leah Higman thinks perhaps there is an obvious angle to take in a follow up tale, that being the next generation of Chiefs fan…(!!!)
“Holiday Touchdown” has been the most viewed Christmas movie on the Hallmark Channel this year and there have been sequels to previous highly viewed and rated movies on the network. So it wouldn’t be unheard of, although officially the network has not offered a follow-up......Yet.
But with cast members already keen for more, and an acute interest in the team this season as they go for three league championships in a row, there can be story lines for any eventuality.
The story would have to be written quickly though. Shooting would have to occur by the middle of 2025 for post production to have ample time to polish and edit to a high level.
There are plenty of hurdles ahead. Including the conclusion of the current season for the team (if that even is to play a role). But, if Hallmark and their creatives in the movie division are agile enough and driven, it can be done.
