So it is officially Summer 2021!!! Which means it is time for us all to relax and to enjoy this great midwestern weather during these few precious months. When I moved down to the Tri-States from the Chicagoland area two and a half years ago everyone kept telling me I had to go check out Lake of the Ozarks, and frankly I didn't think it would be that special, but man was I wrong!

Last Summer I was able to plan a weekend getaway to Lake of the Ozarks and was blown away! To be completely honest the thing that made the trip special was the resort I stayed at called The Lodge of the Four Seasons, it was phenomenal, it had great pools, incredible outdoor and indoor bars, good food, and was located near all the other things that I was looking to do while in the area. Just recently I saw this cool article ranking the top 9 resorts at Lake of the Ozarks and wasn't shocked at all to see where I stayed ranked in the top 3, to see the article click here!

I haven't been able to stop thinking about going back to Lake of the Ozarks since I left there last summer, it's really such an easy drive down there. All I'm saying is think about treating yourself this summer, guys it doesn't take much money or planning to do a special fun getaway with your lady at the lake, so instead of another trip to St. Louis, go live it up at a resort for the weekend!

LOOK: Stunning vintage photos capture the beauty of America's national parks

Today these parks are located throughout the country in 25 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The land encompassing them was either purchased or donated, though much of it had been inhabited by native people for thousands of years before the founding of the United States. These areas are protected and revered as educational resources about the natural world, and as spaces for exploration.
