Holladay Distillery in Weston, Missouri has become the high-profile Missouri bourbon. Located north of Kansas City along the Missouri river, this distillery has the history and reputation to produce high end bourbon. Holladay has been successful enough over the last few years that they’ve begun building a new rickhouse to be able to age even more Missouri bourbon. They also recently signed an agreement to be distributed in Australia. Their soft red wheat bourbon sips smooth and friendly.

Wood Hat Spirits in New Florence, Missouri is in the habit of winning awards for their libations. Whether it’s their cordials or their Missouri bourbon selections that are made using exclusively Missouri wood and corn, their products can be had where Missouri highway 19 and Interstate 70 come together. Any of these will be well received as gifts.

Stone Ledge Distillery in Defiance, Missouri has an up and comer in its Stowloch Whiskey, which has won several medals and accolades at competitions around the globe. With flavors from the Ozark highlands this Missouri whiskey is a good bottle to get and gift.

Copper Run Distillery in Branson, Mo. is another spot to taste some Missouri distilled products. They make craft products in limited numbers. Their approach is elite quality on a small scale as opposed to large quantity production that often loses the personal craft touch. Missouri bourbon, and small batch whiskey from this southern Missouri operation will definitely get high marks as presents this Christmas.

Give the gift of Missouri whiskey this year for your friends who know what the good stuff tastes like.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
